Stag Beetle ~ Bronze
The stag beetle is one of central characters in a collection that depicts a fictional world of grander than life size insects and fittingly smaller entomophilic humanoids. In the world as we see it, insects, due to their diminutive size are not given the social and environmental status they deserve in part because they are dwarfed by humans who often are their adversaries. In my fictional world the relative size of these creatures is reversed, and they co-exist in peaceful harmony. While the stag beetles often provide transportation and other services for their humanoid friends their relationship is symbiotic not exploitative and both species enjoy the fruits of each other’s labor. A hefty musculature defines the stag beetle who weighs 11 lbs.
